Liam Archer

I was very honored when Wendi asked if I would be there for the birth of her baby boy.  I was even more honored and touched when it came down to either her mom, Suzie or I to go in for her c-section, Suzie let me go.  It was a decision I was not going to make or something I wanted Suzie to miss out on.  I will never be able to say Thank you enough!  It was an amazing experience to be there and to hear Liam's first little cry.  It is a day that will be one of my favorite days for the rest of my life.  Liam Archer born June 15, 2010 at 12:34pm, weighed 8lbs 10oz.

The nurses kept flicking his little feet and rubbing his back.  Liam just didn't want to cry long enough for them to hear his lungs.  He was surrounded by excess fluid, so a good cry would break up his lungs

Not going to cry no I'm not going to cry for those nurses.

Poultry Days

Poultry Days in Versailles, Ohio is all about well...Poultry!  I was staying with my friend Wendi for the weekend (waiting on the arrival of Baby Liam) we decided to take our girls plus Bre along with Jason and Pete.  It was a hot, long day the girls had fun.
The Fun Slide was the favorite ride!

Averi and Tarin
Bre aka Dakota Fanning
This is the ride that almost ruined Tarin's day.  As it went around in a circle it would slow down to go up a tiny slope and speed up when it went down.  The next picture tells it all...
There was nothing I could do but stand by to watch her go round and round.  The carnie wouldn't stop the ride so she could get off.  Needless to say when it stopped she was the first one off.  As she came out the exit I got an earful about letting her ride "stupid" rides like that.  Later on she apologized for saying "stupid" it was one time I was going to let her slide on saying it.  I explained to her that I didn't realize how the ride went or I would have told her not to ride it since I know she doesn't like rides like that...
So while Averi and Bre rode the dinosaur ride, Tarin and I played a game and ventured into the hot Petting Zoo...
I was glad to see her smiling again...holding a baby chick helps.
Baby calf just laid there as people walked around him, some bending over to pet, others not even paying attention.
This puppy was all white with the black patch over it's eye.  Tarin really wanted to bring him home.

Dog Days of Summer

I'm not sure who was having more fun here!

Tarin walking (maybe running) with Macy around the island.
Look closely you can see Macy's little tongue.

Tarin loves taking Macy out for a walk, although I think Macy loves it just as much.  She sniffs, barks and walks in all directions.   Both child and dog are exhausted from the adventure!

A Visit with Family

On Friday June 4th, my Grams (who lives in Nevada), Aunt Rhonda and Cousin Amanda (whom I've only met once) came to visit and see our house.

Great Aunt Rhonda brought Tarin a set of pastels. Tarin and Grams drew pictures together.
Macy loves Grams and wanted to draw too.

Cousin Amanda napping after lunch!
Grams and Casey talking.
No visit is complete without pictures by the water.  It was a little windy!

I have missed my family, I am so thankful that they came up to visit.  Luckily we do get to see each other through Skype but nothing beats seeing each other in person.

A Nap

One minute Tarin is talking to me while I was on the computer, the next she is sound asleep.  She laid like this for about an hour.  I tried to move her but she insisted on me leaving her alone.

Last Day of 2nd Grade

With each passing school year I am filled with mixed emotions.  I am happy Tarin is growing into a beautiful, smart young lady but sadden by how quickly the years are going by.  It is true...they grow up so fast.
On to 3rd grade she goes...
